Changes to the UFC 87 card.

According to MMAjunkie.com, the card at UFC 87 has had one match added, and another match forced to be changed due to an injury.

It was announced today that welterweight champion George St. Pierre will be making a title defense against new number one contender Jon Fitch. It will be GSP's first title defense since beating by TKO Matt Serra at UFC 83 in Montreal. Fitch comes in to UFC 87 carrying a 15 match consecutive win streak that contains victories over the likes of Shonie Carter, Thiago Alves, and most recently Chris Wilson at UFC 82.

The other piece of news surrounding UFC 87 is that Mark Coleman will no longer be the opponent for former WWE champion Brock Lesnar. Coleman, the recent UFC Hall of Fame inductee suffered a knee injury in training. A new opponent for Lesnar is expected to be announced shortly. Brock is 0-1 in the UFC, following a loss to Frank Mir in his UFC debut in February.

UFC 87 will be taking place in Lesnar's home town of Minneapolis.

Here are the matches that have been announced so far:

  • Jon Fitch vs. Georges St. Pierre
  • Brock Lesnar vs. TBA
  • Kenny Florian vs. Roger Huerta
  • Dan Evensen vs. Cheick Kongo
